Stonefly Studio is a small family Made in Montana business where everything is customizable. We work with our wedding customers to design that special wedding party gift whether it is for the groom, groomsmen, Mom or Dad, the bride, or bridesmaids. More than once the wedding rings have been placed in the fly box.
We specialize in our own handcrafted wood products custom engraved with our original river designs. From our Signature River Map Fly Boxes to our Groomsmen Flasks and Cold Beer Bottle Holders, you can pick a river map to showcase. Since we handcraft all our wood products and do our own design work and laser engraving, personalization such as a name and inscription is free. On the maps, we can mark special locations for you with a heart, cabin icon, etc.
Our business began when our son was young and the handcrafted fly box that was gifted to him was lost. His Dad retreated to what we called the Magic Garage and built him a new one. Then, Dan thought, “What better to engrave on the front of your fly box than your favorite river.” Hence, the River Map Fly Box was born. Since that time, he has designed over 500 river maps worldwide.
While the handcrafted River Map Fly Boxes and stainless steel River Map Flask are very popular groom and groomsmen gifts, our small River Map Plaques make beautiful table decorations. They can then be given as gifts to those that helped behind the scenes. A Colorado wedding customer had table plaques for the banquet tables and each plaque had a different Colorado river on it.
Instead of a river map, we can engrave photos or custom artwork. Our wooden coasters make great “thank you for coming gifts” especially when the bride and grooms’ photo is engraved on them. During this virtual attendance Covid-19 time, the coasters make great thank you gifts to send in the mail.
