When it comes to weddings, many couples tend to over-complicate things, when in fact all that truly matters is celebrating the unique love between two individuals. While luxurious wedding venues are undeniably gorgeous, there is something that is both inviting and comforting about a backyard wedding. And as such, we are overjoyed at the chance to share Katie + Brian’s Backyard Wedding in Lolo, MT. This intimate ceremony was straight out of our rustic wedding dreams!

Katie and Brian’s big day was photographed by Cheers MT Vendor, Elizabeth & Samuel Photography! Morgan Elizabeth and Aaron Samuel, owners of Elizabeth & Samuel Photography, are a husband/wife duo serving Western, MT! These two are passionate about capturing moments that couples can look back on and instantly feel like they are reliving them. Their stunning work truly speaks for itself!

Their Love Story Begins

As modern dating would have it, Katie and Brian first met on Tinder, an extremely popular dating site! After meeting on the app, this couple settled on their first date at a dive bar on the beach. Following this extremely successful first date, Brian was convinced that this was not where the date was meant to end. As such, he invited Katie to his friend’s BBQ, and the rest is history!

The Proposal

As a New Years weekend getaway, Katie and Brian decided to head to Ensenada, BC, Mexico. Brian had big plans for this weekend, and unable to hide his excitement, Katie knew that something was up. This being said, she was on high alert all weekend long! They went for a romantic horseback ride on the beach and staying true to Brian’s inability to keep a secret, Katie could totally see the ring box in his pocket the entire time!

Towards the end of the ride, Brian asked the guide if they could get off the horses to take a picture, and that is when he finally popped the question. As he got down on one knee they both started laughing and shedding happy tears. Obviously, Katie said yes!

The Wedding Day

Katie and Brian were blessed to have the space to host their big day in their very own backyard. Their rustic wedding was intimate, fun, and most importantly, allowed the couple to stress less and fully enjoy their day. This couple’s celebration is living proof that the wedding day does not need to be overly complicated and/or stressful!

As Katie and Brian put it, their wedding was “The start of so many new memories on our land and in our lives… we can’t wait to have babies and tell them all about it!”
