Here are some 2023 wedding trends that we adore:
Destination Weddings/Elopements
What’s more romantic than grabbing the person you love, traveling to a beautiful location, and saying your “I Dos” with nobody and nothing to distract you? We may be biased, but eloping or hosting the intimate destination wedding of your dreams is surely one of the best ways to get hitched.
Home to the world famous Glacier National Park, Montana has no lack of stunning elopement/intimate wedding locations for you to tie the knot. Whether you choose to marry your soul mate engulfed in nature in West Glacier, with Lake McDonald as your backdrop, or even standing on top of the world at Logan’s Pass, the trend of eloping in 2023 is definitely something we can get behind! 😉

Wedding Wardrobe with Pearl Embellishments
Bridal trends come and go, but one thing is for sure – pearls are timeless! Luckily for us, pearls are predicted to become one of the hottest wedding trends in 2023. From adorning the wedding cake to adding some glam to wedding-day décor, or making the bride feel that much more beautiful on her big day, pearls are a simple way to add some sophistication to any celebration.
With soft tulle sleeves and hand-sewn small and medium-sized pearls, the “Pearl” dress by Bridal Closet is straight out of our classy wedding dreams.
Pearl is a romantic classic crepe gown with simple lines and minimalistic details. This gown is incredibly romantic and is such a soft bridal staple. The bishop sleeves are the principal detail with iridescent pearls sporadically placed throughout the arm. This gown is the definition of quintessential elegance.

Sustainable Wedding Décor
Many couples around the world are opting for eco-friendly weddings, and its no wonder why. According to The Green Bride Guide, the average wedding produces about 400 lbs. of garbage. With about 2.5 million weddings per year, that is about 1 billion lbs. of trash! To keep our planet waste free, many couples have chosen to rent wedding décor, alongside choosing wedding decorations that can be incorporated into their homes for years to come.
Monica, on her wedding day, was passionate about ensuring that her wedding day accents represented her own individuality. Since she refers to herself as a “crazy plant lady”, Katie Bennett with Mac’s Floral, a Cheers MT Vendor, suggested that she incorporate live potted plants into her table décor! What a wonderful way to leave a lasting impression on guests, while incorporating accents that can be used as home décor in the years following the wedding. Gemstone Engagement Rings
In 2023, brides are choosing to embrace their creativity. While diamond rings are timeless, gemstone engagement rings are all the rage! Montana, also known as the Treasure State, is known for its abundance of minerals and gemstones. Here at Cheers MT, we are suckers for a stunning sapphire engagement/wedding ring. Gem-quality sapphires were accidentally found by miners in the 1880s, and since, Montana has gained popularity for its range of incredible Yogo Sapphires!
Yogo Sapphires are the most precious sapphires found in North America. They are considered to be among the finest sapphires in the world. These unique gems come from only limited area, named Yogo Gulch, located in the Little Belt Mountains of Montana.
Internally, Yogo Sapphires are usually free of inclusions and their color is consistent throughout the whole stone; unlike heat-treated sapphires, where the color is banded within the stone.

Looking to pop the question with an authentic connection to Montana? The “Starla” is a 14K rose gold engagement ring featuring a Montana sapphire, 1/6 CTW diamond accents, and two accented diamond tracers. Simply beautiful!
Mini Cakes & Dessert Displays
While not technically a “new” trend, mini cakes and dessert displays will be seen at thousands of 2023 weddings! Ditching the traditional large wedding cake with several tiers, and opting for a smaller cake accompanied by other sweet bites is a fun way to add some character to your celebration.
When it comes to curating a wedding dessert table, Montana Wildflour Baking Co. does it best! Holland Voisen, the head baker at Montana Wildflour, is fueled by a passion to combine unique flavors and designs to make truly extraordinary naked cakes, pies, tarts, and delightful handheld pastries. This company takes pride in its incredible creations and often uses local ingredients, alongside incorporating locally grown flowers and designs inspired by the beautiful place we call home – Montana!

Backyard Weddings
Don’t get us wrong, we adore beautiful venues with all of the amenities, but there is something so heartfelt about backyard weddings! The uncomplicated nature of these intimate ceremonies truly allows the connection between two lovers to be fully showcased and empowers the couple’s friends, family, and loved ones to celebrate the newlyweds one-of-a-kind bond authentically. Trending in 2023, don’t be afraid to get creative and host a beautiful backyard wedding!
Need a touch of inspiration? Casey and Brielle’s idyllic backyard wedding in Missoula, Montana, was truly a stunner! This couple’s wedding ceremony was hosted in the backyard of the home where Brielle grew up. From the ease of planning to the creativity offered in terms of design, these unique celebrations allow any couple to create the ultimate “venue” of their dreams!

Champagne Towers
In 2023, we’re taking it back to the roaring ’20s with the iconic champagne pour! This elegant and grandiose day-of detail is the perfect way to keep your guests entertained AND makes for a fun-filled photo op with you and your partner. Pop the bubbly, girl, cause you’re getting MARRIED!
A lot of my couples are choosing this instead of a cake cutting moment as they always mention that cakes are very much a ‘been there, done that’ and opt for a champagne tower moment and then a dessert table instead. I also find that couples adore the photos that come from a ‘champagne tower shot’, the glamour, the movement, the emotions captured in these photos are timeless.
